Jesus Brothers – Four Men
Jesus’ brothers are mentioned several times in the Bible. In fact, the Bible mentions that Jesus had four brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. The Bible also speaks of Jesus having sisters, but it doesn’t mention any names or how many sisters Jesus had.
It is naturally concluded that these brothers and sisters that the Bible mentions are blood half siblings of Jesus.
Jesus Brothers – The Bible verses
Jesus’ brothers are mentioned in several Bible verses:
“While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him” (Matthew 12:46).
“Now Jesus' mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd” (Luke 8:19).
“Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him” (Mark 3:31).
“Let no one on the roof of his house go down or enter the house to take anything out” (Mark 13:15).
“After this, Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely staying away from Judea because the Jews there were waiting to take his life. But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near, Jesus' brothers said to him, ‘You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.’ For even his own brothers did not believe in him. Therefore Jesus told them, ‘The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil. You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come.’ Having said this, he stayed in Galilee. However, after his brothers had left for the Feast, he went also, not publicly, but in secret. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers” (Acts 1:14).
“As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!” (Galatians 1:9).
There is no evidence in the Bible to believe that Jesus' brothers and sisters are anything other than the actual children of Joseph and Mary.
