Blood sacrifice

I posted this as a response to another's question but it's also what I would have said anyway... :)

I believe Jesus was outraged because the selling of sacrifices at outrageous prices kept the poor from atonement. Blood sacrifice was necessary the moment Adam and Eve disobeyed for it took an animal skin to clothe them. You know the term, "scape goat" - I had a Sunday School teacher explain this to me. When the Hebrews were brought from Egypt and erected their temple, of which Aaron (Moses' brother) was the high priest, the people could not enter the Holiest of Holies. Instead they wrote their names on a ribbon, it was attached to a goat. The high priest would slit the throat and set the goat running. The goat's blood covered the sin. I cannot tell you why the "wages of sin is death" but I do believe that what those men in the temple were doing prevented people at that time from atonement. God's will is that none should perish and He becomes angry to see His children denied.

This is not nearly the whole story, by the way. I pray my inadequacies in relaying information will not be a stumbling block or a source of contention. I've listed it as "thought" until I've had time to check my historical facts. I never questioned *that* Sunday School teacher. :)

Dishonest Dealings
I doubt Christ would have been so bent out of shape if the market sellers had been honest and just in their trade. He refered to the building as a den or robbers. G_D is everywhere and not necessarily to be found in places designated for worship.

Why was Jesus so upset about a little business being transacted in the temple courts?
Jesus was upset because they made the temple a marketplace. The temple is a holy place where we can praise and pray for God.

Jesus clears the temple
Jesus was upset because the temple is a holy place and the people make a market place out of the temple. They dirty the place and even money changers are doing transaction which is indeed very distubing.

Why was Jesus so upset about a little business being transacted in the temple courts?
His is the Kingdom of spiritual treasures so he doesn`t like it being mixed with money eartly concerns. Its not appropriate and is a lack of respect as well as an exploitation of His Holy Name.

The Temple is totally a wrong place to be selling and buying commodities. It should remain the prayer house all the times.

Jesus Clears the Temple

After this, he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days. The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting. He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers' money, and overthrew their tables. To those who sold the doves, he said, "Take these things out of here! Don't make my Father's house a marketplace!" His disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house will eat me up."
The Jews therefore answered him, "What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?"
Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."
The Jews therefore said, "Forty-six years was this temple in building, and will you raise it up in three days?" But he spoke of the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did. But Jesus didn't trust himself to them, because he knew everyone, and because he didn't need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
