Paying Taxes to Caesar was not wrong.
Because it is not an absolute value.

What things are Gods? ``Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar`s, and to God the things that are God`s.``
God is the master of everything He placed on the earth: their soil, their food, their land, their livestock, brethren, and leaders. No man, including the greatest leaders, like Julius Ceaser has the right to lay claim on what God has made. Man`s creations are only just that - transient, non-essential tools that rarely promote the Holy word!! Amen!!

Jesus explicitly refers to the coin - earthly riches - those he does not deny. Earthly power has a right on those. Is it a way of reminding us of the heavenly treasures that we are to inherit and store when following in the path He lovingly set for us? by sticking to His Commandments? It`s a call to not get too attached to earthly goods and if necessary to take up our crown of thorns like Jesus did and walk with him to the Marriage Feast. With faith and courage and hope. Our treasures are Treasures when spent for God. We must fight for all that is sacred - earthly goods are nothing compared to the sanctity of any relationship truly and charitably lived in Christ, with Christ and for Christ. :''

Earthly power and heavenly power
Again Jesus rightfully sets the boundary and makes it clear that he is not taking anything away from what is rightfully due to the earthly power. Dutiful - according to the God given Law that has to rule human law be at the basis of it. And Jesus doesn`t steal anything from Caesar. Honestly aknowledges what is due to him. You shall not steal....the 10 Commandments being the pillars of the house of human justice.

Paying Taxes to Caesar

They watched him, and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor. They asked him, "Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren't partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"
But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, "Why do you test me? Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?"
They answered, "Caesar's."
He said to them, "Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."
They weren't able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer, and were silent.
