I think it`s beacuse he`s asking the Father for the strenght to heal. It`s areleif to see miracles performed on you but think you are the one called to perform those miracles. Wouldn`t you be afraid? God sent us a man not a cartoon Superman with all his human potential at all levels -physical and emotional and spiritual - but like when in h??the end he says if this be thou will Jesus is afraid and yet trusting till the end. That sigh to me is a creviche into his human heart and i feel we do not liste to that enough. We forget Jesus humainity - think also of the Mel Gibson film - all the pain that comes through. It`s a real Jesus not an anodyne candyland one. So much in a sigh...and we should also learn to listen more to our fellow beings sighs before waiting for bigger signa that something is going wrong and needs rctifying wither of our own fault or because of others. Why do you think Jesus looked up to heaven and then sighed before the healing?
Jesus looked up to His Father for miracle to happen and it did. Today, if we are in trouble of any kind, only what we need to do is looking up to JESUS and believe the problem is solved. By: Fasakin Adebayo Joseph - July 29, 2007 - Public Category: The Healing of a Deaf and Mute Man

I think Jesus made that kind of reaction because he wants to heal that person right away in the presence of our God By: Sab Quinitio - July 29, 2007 - Public Category: The Healing of a Deaf and Mute Man

Why do you think Jesus looked up to heaven and then sighed before the healing?
Probably because he was looking at our heavenly father and wondering why they weren't more people who were willing to heal others like himself. Now, after blessing his disciples and giving them the power of the Holy Spirit. Then too can heal the broken hearted and those who are sick, blind and deaf all around the world in name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen! He probably sighed because He knows that there will always exist people who are deaf, mute and sick with no one to heal them. He probably felt pity for them. By: Mirtha Fabro - July 29, 2007 - Public Category: The Healing of a Deaf and Mute Man

Perhaps it was with pity that our Lord sighed - at the things this man would now be able to see and to hear. By: Patty M. - July 30, 2007 - Public Category: The Healing of a Deaf and Mute Man

Jesus looked up to Heaven to let the eople know that all glory belonged to God in Heaven. That His powers were from heaven. By: Benjamin Ugbe - August 03, 2007 - Public Category: The Healing of a Deaf and Mute Man
Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the region of Decapolis. They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him. He took him aside from the multitude, privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue. Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha!" that is, "Be opened!" Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly. He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it. They were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear, and the mute speak!"
