Why does the Father hide things from the wise and intelligent and reveal them to infants?
I believe that infants are always eager to know and sometimes anxious to learn.Whatever thing you teach infants, they accept; but the wise and the intelligent are sometimes proud and would want to have a proof.

Why does the Father hide things from the wise and intelligent and reveal them to infants?
The wise and intelligent already think they know what they need to know and are arrogant in their own self-esteem while the infants are open to learning and are humble in their lack of understanding and their desire to know more of God.

Why does the Father hide things from the wise and intelligent and reveal them to infants?
Because the wise and intelligent will ask so much questions, and the infants will listen.

Why does the Father hide things from the wise and intelligent and reveal them to infants?
Maybe because they are more prepared to take the Truth fully and purely and dont risk twisting it and making it conform to a wordly understanding of the Word. Intelligence is a God given gift that has to be used with humility and always holding the Lamp of Truth. I think that by wise here it is meant knowlegeble well read. The Father entrusts the concrete message of Love to the simple ones who will `simply` take it and apply it in a concrete way. it`s a message for the heart of flesh first and then that has to guide the mind.

Rest for the Weary

At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight. All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
