Why did God allow John to be beheaded by Herod?
John the Baptist said of Jesus that He must increase while I must decrease. The entire affair of John`s martyrdom reeks of evil, yet God brought good out of this awful mess in that John`s faithful disciples joined Jesus Christ. Although I often do not understand, God`s Will be done.

Why did God allow John to be beheaded by Herod?
To give us a most shiny example of the love and obeyance to God. They with their free will persist in sinning despite Johns advice. Who has everything to fear? not John dying for Jesus and the defense of the Law of Love - that was translated into the 10 Commandments ''kind of like the Constitution and the laws?'', but Herod and his daughter who persist intentionally in evil despite all warnings and thus condemning their souls to death. Although there is alwauys hope - the thief repenting on the cross. Our free will: where do we decide to turn? what are we willing to risk? God`s Kingdom? which is priceless end of all sufferings and sorrows etc and the gate is narrow it passes through the cross. Take up your cross and follow me Jesus said. Who loses his life for me shall gain it etc etc.

Why did God allow John to be beheaded by Herod?
God gave us free will to make our own decsions and he does not control our free will and though i am sure he is sad when we do wrong, also i am sure it was time for John to go and be with God.

Why did God allow John to be beheaded by Herod?
God does not control the free will of human beings so the Father could not control Herord`s oath. The Father could only lead John`s disciples to follow Jesus.

Why did God allow John to be beheaded by Herod?
Because he know John had done the job he was sent here to do, so he took John home to him in heaven...Also Jesus came to finish what John was put here to do.. John started the belief process and Jesus continued it..

Why did God allow John to be beheaded by Herod?
John was not afraid to suffer any consequences of his commitment to God`s word and spoke truth directly to Herod telling him that Herod`s marriage to Herodias was sinful and not a marriage before God [i]t is not lawful for you to have her. Herod`s sinful hedonistic nature is not only shown by unlawful marriage to Herodias, but Herod is seduced and entranced so much by Herodias` daughter`s dance that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask. Just like Herod knows that an unlawful marriage is wrong, he knows that beheading John is wrong [t]he king was grieved, but Herod does it any way. John the Baptist did not fear to be outspoken about God`s word, being imprisoned. His suffering and beheading is symbolic of deep commitment and sacrifice to the truth and values of the gospel.

John the Baptist Beheaded

At that time, Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Jesus, and said to his servants, "This is John the Baptizer. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him." For Herod had laid hold of John, and bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife. For John said to him, "It is not lawful for you to have her." When he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. But when Herod's birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced among them and pleased Herod. Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask. She, being prompted by her mother, said, "Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptizer."
The king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths, and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given, and he sent and beheaded John in the prison. His head was brought on a platter, and given to the young lady: and she brought it to her mother. His disciples came, and took the body, and buried it; and they went and told Jesus.
