I have tried several times to go to my sister and she refuses to speak with me. I wrote her a letter and she put on FB that she refused to open it up and read it.

The next thing Im going to do is go to her church and speak with her and her pastor!

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
It`s best to try to talk to your brother one on one, because you can so and tell him about your love for him and try to tell him what he has done wrong. If you have two or more people trying to talk to him he migt be rebellish and not listen to what you and the others have to say,

Hello everyone, You see in Humanity when you confront abrother alone, it makes more impact and responsibilty b`se there will aroom for him to speak out all he has to say and the bibles say that if you he listens then you have gained your brother.Since following the bible it`s better to confront him alone and this will even give aroom to pray to God and he hears you two if he listens.B`se down there in the bible Mat 18:15 jesus goes ahead and say that whatever two people agree upon on earth concerining anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my father in heaven.

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
It is because he is your brother and there is no one that understand him apart from you so if he sins against you let him know what he did was wrong and correct him so that he does not do it somewhere else that can cause his life. As the bible say loving one another is the best of all laws. confronting him personaly first is to teach the sign of humility and respect that he should learn and understand. personal interaction help to know what is at stake in someones life. lawrence

A Brother Who Sins Against You
Because no one else needs to hear what is going on. It is not fun to be ridaculed in front of others. What is known here is also known in Heaven.

Why is it helpful to confront a brother alone first, before involving others in confronting him?
It seems like a simple thing, to confront your brother alone doesn`t it? Give him a chance to put right his wrong, without embarrassment. But what then, if he doesn`t listen? This happened to us - the brother would not listen, so others in the family were involved, he still did not listen. Then, the family member who was wronged died. The brother still did not repent or right the wrong, even though the deceased member had begged him the day before he died. This was 2 years ago, still the brother has not repented. The bible says treat him like a gentile or tax collector. But in Matthew 18:21-22 Jesus says you should forgive your brother not 7 times, but 77 times. So, what should we do? Forgive the brother, or treat him like a gentile or tax collector??? This is our family dilemma, we would welcome your thoughts on a suitable course of action.

It is better to confront a brother alone first, before involving others to find out what the real problem is. He might have done something wrong out of anger but felt sorry after. So, by confronting him, he might repent and the anger released from him, thus gaining back your friend.

A Brother Who Sins Against You

"If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesn't listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector. Most certainly I tell you, whatever things you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever things you release on earth will have been released in heaven. Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them."

Matthew 18:15-20
