Hardness of heart lead to divorce by allowing the devil to twist our leaders to come up with force doctrine to suit our desier with the aim to devorce at the end of it. This is the spirit of not forgiving at the same time not willing to change the way of evil life and become new creation in Jesus through accepting and believing that Jesus is the head of our families. It's pretty much thier own selfishness that leads, it's all about what they want or what would make them happy, not what is right.
Abiding in the truth of God's Word, that husbands should love thier wives as they love themselves and wives be submissive to their husbands. Pretty much treating each other as they themselves would want to be treated.

"Why then did Moses command us to give her a bill of divorce, and

He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you
to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so. I tell you that whoever divorces
his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits
adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits
adultery." His disciples said to
him, "If this is the case of the man with his wife, it is not
expedient to marry."
But he said to them,
"Not all men can receive this saying, but those to
whom it is given. For
there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb, and
there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who
made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven's sake. He who is able
to receive it, let him receive it."
