Why did Jesus clear the temple in such a dramatic manner? Why did not he try to accomplish the same thing more diplomatically?
I believe that Jesus is just reminding us to have a zeal for God`s kingdom . Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit so we must protect our body from unrighteousness. We must be bold in expressing God`s Word to beat the enemy. We must resist the devil so he will flee from us.

He wants the temple to be respected. The temple of God should be considered holy. In this situation, the people turned it into a marketplace...

I think it must have been extremely noisy in the temple, with all the activity of the people buying and selling. Jesus cleared the temple in a dramatic way, to catch everyone`s attention and to make a clear statement about what should be going on inside the temple. And He made it abundantly clear that the temple should be a place of prayer, not a place to make money off of those that wished to bring a sacrifice to God.

Jesus needed to make a strong statement, and diplomancy may not have worked here.In being so dramatic, He drew attention to Himself, and showed what the church had become''den of robbers'', and then went on to display what it was meant for''house of prayer''.Sadly, a lot of churches these days seem to be turning the church to a place for buying and selling, of business etc. Will Jesus be pleased with some of the activities going on in our churches today?:I think not.

He wanted people to know how things should be in the house of prayer, in his house. People go the the God`s house to pray, worship and be close to Our Lord and Father Jesus Christ. Amen

Why did Jesus clear the temple in such a dramatic manner? Why did not he try to accomplish the same thing more diplomatically?
First of all it was the temple of God and he said his house shall be called a house of prayer. Because they probably wouldn`t have listened to reason, So he had to get their attention in order for them to listen to him. I think he was setting an example for our churches to follow a house of God; where we should pray and worship God. Amen!

Matthew`s Biography of Jesus - Jesus at the Temple
Jesus is right to have protected the House of Worship from all the robbers, as they would have destroyed the beauty and sirenity of Jesus` amazing works. All christians need to be aware about those who directly go out to destroy the Holy places Jesus established as His domain. Be it your own home to the greatest of all churches, Satan`s evil army will try to enter and destroy everything they can!!!!!! Amen, and God bless everyone!!

Jesus at the Temple

Jesus entered into the temple of God, and drove out all of those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers' tables and the seats of those who sold the doves. He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a den of robbers!"
The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them. But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children who were crying in the temple and saying, "Hosanna to the son of David!" they were indignant, and said to him, "Do you hear what these are saying?"
Jesus said to them, "Yes. Did you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing babies you have perfected praise?'"
He left them, and went out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.
