Why did those who passed by mock Jesus?
Like the soldiers, those who mocked Jesus did not believe He was truly the Son of God. They wanted Jesus to prove to them that He was, by coming down off the cross. When He did not, that only led those to mock Him more.

Why did those who passed by mock Jesus?
All the personnel here including the passby acted on ignorance and that they all lucked wisdom and understanding. They could not believes all the miracles Jesus did which icluded rising people from the dead. They all were aginst Jesus`s claim that He was the son of God . They all accused Jesus of acting against their faith and they wanted Jesus to protect himself as He was doing to others. Jesus could not do that because He was at a great mission to serve mankind include the mokers. Thanks to God - Jesus is the king of kings and He has power to give life in full. John 10 Vs 10.

Why did those who passed by mock Jesus?
They did not believe in Jesus. They thought if he was the Son of God why is he suffering? Where is his heavenly father. Why can`t he get away? They were just truly lost, they just don`t know.

Mock Jesus
Because they thought Jesus was Mesiah as a winner like their King David who will made Israel rule the world. Their dissapoint and hate to Jesus and also Jesus has said that He is a Son of God, and in jews religion this is a blasphemy, So they thought they did right for their faith, and they denied the holy spirit worked.

Why did those who passed by mock Jesus?
People have mocked Jesus because they did not believe that Jesus is the King of Israel. They believe Jesus was a great liar claiming to be the son of god but who could`nt save himself. Jesus became man to die for us and saved us from our sins. If and if only He showed to people right there and then that he can perform miracles, we might not as well be saved. So he just trust in God.

The Crucifixion : The Death of Jesus on the Cross

As they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to go with them, that he might carry his cross. They came to a place called "Golgotha," that is to say, "The place of a skull." They gave him sour wine to drink mixed with gall. When he had tasted it, he would not drink. When they had crucified him, they divided his clothing among them, casting lots, and they sat and watched him there. They set up over his head the accusation against him written, "THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS."
Then there were two robbers crucified with him, one on his right hand and one on the left. Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, "You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself! If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!"
Likewise the chief priests also mocking, with the scribes, the Pharisees, and the elders, said, "He saved others, but he can't save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him. He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'" The robbers also who were crucified with him cast on him the same reproach.
