How do Americans celebrate Christmas day?
Most Americans celebrate Christmas day by giving gifts to their family members and loved ones. They also usually have a large family meal together (traditionally a turkey but since America is a melting pot, that tradition is changing / shifting). Many Americans have a Christmas tree - usually a fir tree of some kind - which they then decorate with pretty lights and small ornaments. Many homes also have a nativity scene--small figurines in plastic or clay representing the original Christmas, the birth of Christ Jesus. Christians often go to church at Christmas or on Christmas Eve.

It is important to note that the way many Americans spend Christmas does not necessarily reflect the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus, the Savior of mankind.
