wow this one is though. i belive the reason he must suffer was to show the whole world the sacrifice that God made for us . To show the followers what it means to live a life that is pleasing to God no matter what. it doesnt matter what we think or want for our lifes but what God wants should be first in our lifes and jesus demonstrated that very very clearly. even when he ask God to remove the cup but that wasnt Gods will. and he still continued to do Gods will. one more thing i personaly dont belive that God seperated himself from jesus. that is just not possible. there has to be a better explanation. why God has forsaken him. Jesus go though all those pains to bring us healing, prosperity, peace and also he wanted to challenge the devil and the world that it is possible to please God and live unsinful life with all the problems which He was facing as a human being. Jesus had to suffer and go through all that pain to make us realize what He went through for our sins. Jesus penalty for our sin neded to include physicaland emotional pain because he was showing that he too felt pain and we can identify with that. He came as the son of god yet was like mankind in that he felt pain like us. There would be no point in sending the son of god to die for our sins if couldn`t feel the full impact of pain and suffering. He was showing that he could identify with our sufferings, he wasn`t a hpocrite, he took the full brunt, as well as the emotional pain of being seperated from his father, which we feel if we choose not to follow god. No, jesus wasn`t trying to incite his own death, all of this was predicted and planned. Jesus kknew what his role was and he had a job to do.
Temple cleansing, accussations of leaders were just some parts of jesus role, he couldn`t be a hypocrite and just stand by, this was his role as the son of god, it was all planned by his father god. By: tricia richardson Category: Final Week of Jesus
