Why did Jesus? penalty for sin need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
Because Go has such a hatred for sin, that it must be punished. And this was shown on the cross how holy our Holy Father is in that nothing of sin can come near Him. There also had to be blooshed because in Hebrews it says Wtihout the shedding of blood, there is no forgive ness. It also says in Leviticus that The life is in the blood.

I think that all people can relate to physical and emotional pain. God sent Jesus to live among us, and we can relate to the pain He suffered in his dying. It is easier for us, and the people who witnessed His execution, to see the pain Jesus was put through. It more clearly demonstrates the sacrifice that Jesus made for all of us.

Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
I do not believe that Jesus was trying to be executed. Jesus knew that he was going to die, but did not seem to do too much to try to prevent this. He knew that is imminent death was fast arriving, and that it was His Father`s will. If serving God meant that He would die, then Jesus was willing to die.

Timeline & Words Final Hours of Execution
Jesus was born out of flesh and bones. He received the Holy Spirit by being batiszie. Jesus had to experience physical and emotional pain because he loved us. Simply put, Jesus took the weight of the world on his shoulder in order for us to be made righteous in the sight of God. Jesus biggest sacrifice he made for us was the spirtual separation from God. Jesus went to hell for us. He defeated the devil. He restored mankind back to God and heaven. Thank-U-Jesus. I`m ready to spend my life in heaven with My Heavenly Father, My Lord and Personal Savior and My Holy Sprit. Thank-U-God I love You. Nadeen Fleming

Jesus was only following God`s plans for him. Jesus knew the chains-of-events that must happen. Jesus had no fear. No-fear, no fear he knew God was right there. I Thank Jesus everyday for dying for my sins. He didn`t have to do it-but he did. Thank-U-Jesus. I love You. Nadeen Fleming

How can I be sure that I have totally turned my will and my life over to God?

Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?
It is my belief that Jesus came into this world to bring us closer to God. I have been attending another church than in the past, and Bible readings are more a part of the service. The more I hear and read, both in church and at home, the more I am able to see how Jesus accomplished all of these purposes. I used to believe that Jesus did come to judge men, but now I see that He came to Earth to help us to become closer to God and to set an example for all of us. By dying on the cross, Jesus` total selflessness and sacrifice proved that He was truly the Son of God. I am better able to see why I should try to live my life as Jesus lived, or rather to imitate Jesus` teachings and love in my place in life. I now know that Jesus came to teach us and lead us all to better lives, not to judge or comdemn us.

How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him? a New commandment?
Only by listening to Christ`s words, and folowing His teachings, are we able to be obedient to Him. Christ`s love is demonstrated to us many times throughout the day, and we need to be aware of these signals. When we decide to turn our will and our life over to Jesus` care, and follow in His footsteps, we are more receptive to His teachings and His will for us. We are becoming more in tune with His love for us, and how we should be serving Him. By obeying Him, we are closer to Him.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
I would ask Jesus many things, but first I would ask him what I would have to do to be closer to him. I know that if I accept Jesus as my Savior, and try to follow his teachings, I am accepted and loved by God the Father. Sometimes I am not sure that I have done this to the best of my ability. I would discuss evil with Jesus, and ask why so many people are filled with hate and so unwilling to help their brothers and sisters here on Earth. We would discuss His plan for my life also. I always try to live a God-centered life, but I am sure there is so much more I can do to truly serve Him. I need to somehow be more receptive to God`s will for me, for I pray for that constantly. I know that I need to learn how to do this, so that I am at all times aware that God is talking to me indirectly through other people and events around me.
