Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
Jesus was human like us, so He felt and suffered physically and emotionally as well as spiritually. Sacrificing on behalf of mankind, so that mankind does not need to suffer spiritual seperation from God. By: Patricia Category: Timeline & Words - Final Hours of Execution

Jesus because all of the evils of mankind are placed on Jesus. This spiritual separation is the heaviest sacrifice which Jesus pays on behalf of mankind, so that mankind does not need to suffer spiritual seperation from God. By: Patricia Category: Timeline & Words - Final Hours of Execution

God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son and so whoever belives in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
This is God promise for us, God separetes himself from Jesus because of the evils of mankind are placed on Jesus. Therefore Jesus suferred phyisical and emotional pain for us to be free us from all the heavy load of sins that we commit before him with his Father.
God plan this out because of he wants us to be his God's chosen people by being close with him. Lets thank God for sending his son Jesus that he phyisical punished on behave of our sins to set as free and so by doing he wants us to be his followers.

Jesus wanted to show His true love for us as human beings. He wants us to know that He feels our pain. He is with us every step of the way and feels our every struggle. He wants us to know that no matter how bad our physical or emotional pain might be, He feels it, He is with us, He has us in His hands, He loves us unconditionally, and He will never leave us. "Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
No, I don't believe Jesus was trying to incite his death. I think He was simply willing to do whatever it took to accomplish His mission which was to bring His Father glory by doing His work while physically here on earth, and to ultimately give all who believe in Him eternal life. "Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?"
Jesus accomplished each and every one of these purposes. While on earth, He showed His love in so many ways. He healed us, He fed us, He loved us. He gave His life for us so that we would be forgiven our sins and have eternal life with Him. What better way can one show unconditional love? He loved us then, He loves us now, and He will always love us! By: Diane Veligor Category: Statements of Purpose

He had to suffer every thing we as a person would suffer, for without suffering like us, how would He be able to judge us. If He did not know how we suffer, He felt everything we can ever feel. Every emotion, every temptation, every pain, and deprivation we feel or you could say He's God He does'nt know how it feels. But He does, He went through it.
