The reason by which Jesus came is to RECOUNCILE man with God.And if He does means that His death is of no use. Why does Jesus call Love One Another a New commandment?
Jesus calls love on another a new commandment be/cos that is the centre of every commandment giving by God. He also means that love is the greatest among all the commandement and did not found at the first commandment given via Moses, that I can say was the reason Jesus calls it a new commandment and through it if you have love towards your prochain you will not do evil against him. If God forgives your sin, you wouldn`t mind what people may say about you but you will surely pull all your effort to follow Him. The same thing applicable to he who recieved a great help from God.
