If Jesus forgave us of our sins when he died, why do we still have to ask for forgiveness every time we sin when he already forgave us?

he needed to experience both emotional physical and spiritual pain so that that he would bea le to relat to us humans and the things we all face.

Because he came to save mankind. His penalty for sin needed emotional and pyhsical pains but not just spiritual separation from God;

  • People could see and imitate
  • Well knwon to people his ministry
  • Spiritual separation only would've not shown to the peple his ministry fulfillment.
  • His physical suffering brought conversion from many people.

     when I watched The Passion of the Christ movie, I wondered why did the suferring of Jesus have to be so brutal ? Then I thought about all the horrific things people do in this world. Child abuse, rape, murder, greed, hate, blasphemy, genocide, etc etc. I believe God demanded that the punishment fit the crimes. Jesus paid for all our unGodlliness. Our sins were so disgusting. Thank God and the Lord Jesus that we don't have to pay the price, but that Jesus paid it all. We are none worthy, but he made us righteous through his blood. I am thankful for that, because if he hadn't paid it for me, I would have been a hopelesss case.

     JESUS HAD TO GO THROUGH ALL OF THAT PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL PAIN, BECAUSE WHEN WE SIN, WE GO THROUGH PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL PAIN. SOME PEOPLE GO THROUGH PHYSICAL PAIN AND OTHERS ONLY EMOTIONAL PAIN. SOME PEOPLE GO THROUGH BOTH, SO JESUS HAD TO GO THROUGH PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL PAIN TO SET US FREE FROM ALL OF OUR SINS.

    "Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
     JESUS KNEW THAT THE PEOPLE AND LEADERS WERE LYING ABOUT HIM, BUT JESUS DIDN'T DEFEND HIMSELF, BECAUSE HE KNEW THAT HIS DEATH WAS SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN. JESUS TOLD HIS DISCIPLES ABOUT HIS DEATH TO WARN THEM, BECAUSE HE KNEW HIS DEATH WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, THAT'S WHAT HIS FATHER (GOD) WANTED HIM TO DO. JESUS DID NOT FIGHT BACK OR DEFEND HIMSELF, EVEN THOUGH THE PEOPLE WERE IN THE WRONG AND LIED ABOUT HIM, BECAUSE JESUS KNEW THAT HIS DEATH HAD TO HAPPEN IN ORDER TO SAVE EVERYONE OF HIS PEOPLE. JESUS WILLINGLY DIED, SO THAT WE WOULD BE FORGIVEN OF OUR SINS.

    "Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?"
     JESUS ACCOMPLISHED TO BE OUR SAVIOR. JESUS HAS PROCLAIMED LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES, AND HE RECOVERED THE SIGHT TO THE BLIND, HE SET FREE THE OPPRESSED AND HE HAS SAVED HIS PEOPLE. JESUS TAUGHT HIS DISCIPLES AND EVERYONE THAT READS THE BIBLE THAT WE SHOULD SERVE OTHERS, AS HE SERVED OTHERS. JESUS PREACHED THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO OTHERS AND OTHER NATIONS,JUST AS WE SHOULD PREACH THE KINGDOM OF GOD TO OTHERS AND OTHER NATIONS. JESUS GAVE US LIFE!

    How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment?

    We can not separate Jesus from the Word, and drawing near to Jesus means knowing and obeying the Word.  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  Heaven and earth will pass away, but the Word (The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost) will remain.  And it is not enough to be hearer's of the Word only, but we must also be Doer's of the Word.  For we must love in deed and in truth. To get to know Jesus you must get to know the Word.  And through the Word we may come to have Christ dwell in our hearts By Faith. And to love Jesus is to love the Word, which includes his commandments.

    Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment?
    Because it is no longer sufficient to love/serve only those who love you (family, friends, and love one').  With Jesus the requirement of Love/servitude is expanded to include our enemies.
