Define "Compassion"?
COMPASSION IS A FEELING OF SORROW OR A FEELING OF SYMPATHY FOR SOMEONE. ANOTHER WAY TO DEFINE "COMPASSION" IS HAVING MERCY ON SOMEONE. CARING AND LOVING DEEPLY FOR SOMEONE.

for me it means doing something good for someone in need, being able to help whenever you can and doing it whole heartedly.

Define "Compassion"?
Compassion is empathy coupled with action beginning and ending in love.  For Jesus loves us not in word, but in deeds and in truth.  By way of Jesus being God on earth in human form, he was susceptible to the pain and hurt and cries of those calling out to him, seeking him, surrounding him, following him, approaching him from every side hoping for the opportunity to touch him if only the hem of his garment.  For as compassion relates to the Love of Jesus, specifically the Love Jesus has for us, one can not separate compassion from action beginning and ending in love, because if the story ended with Jesus having compassion for the people, the multitude, us, then the multitude would have walked away and fainted from their hunger, the blind men would still be blind, the paralyzed man would still be lying by the pool, Lazarus would never have been raised from the dead....or even worst....the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior...I can't even dare to imagine.

Jesus is the Messiah, our saviour and lord. He came to teach us His father's words and guide us through a sinful world. No matter what our lives will be rich or struggling, God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten son to die for us so that we will not perish but have everlasting life. As many as believe in Him, He gave them the power to become sons of God.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?
I have never thought the Bible could be divided into all these settings, educational, political etc... really make interesting reading. I've always seen it as one big religious book containing the words of God. Also i'm surprised to know they were educating people back then, at a tender age of 5.

Define "Compassion"?
compassion in my opinion means being concerned about the welfare of others regardless of their race, culture, ethnicity etc.. Also showing pity on our fellow human beings. As christians we need to follow the footsteps of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. He healed, fed and raised people from the dead, people who were not direct relatives or family members. Many atimes we tend to help people who are part of our family or dear friends. Jesus had compassion for the people by showing mercy to all. To me it also means helping others without discriminating as to who the person might be.

Define "Compassion"?

Compassion is so important!

For me I recently lost someone I loved very much and Compassion has recently had a new meaning to me.. compassion For me is Mercy and Grace to help me make it through the night! Showing Mercy to myself and others just as the Lord Himself showed mercy to us. Offering comfort and hope to those grieving loss of child, spouse, parents, siblings, missing, suicide, tragedy, divorce, abused. Loss of health, loss of pet, loss of job. Processing grief.

Jesus himself gave us countless examples of compassion. He cared deeply about those in need.

    * He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion. Psa 111:4

* But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion. Psa 86:15a

It surprised me to find out the Sabbath Day began on Friday at sundown and ended at Saturday sundown. I was always taught to observe it on Sunday.

Brief Summary of Jesus
Jesus, who is the head of my life, died for me and my sins, that I might have life and have it more abundantly.  He is the author of my life, the beginning and the end, my Alpha and Omega, my Emmanuel, my redeemer, my Bright Morning Star, and the greatest friend I have, I have ever had, and I will ever have.  And he continues to present me faultless before the Father.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?
He was not a religious or political fanatic like other Jews. He cared for the gentiles (even the samaritans) unlike other Jews.He is like an instrument of God. Its like he is the body and God is the soul or spirit.
