"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)

Jesus was a great teacher that we can learn a lot from.  He maximized every opportunity to teach principles to live by.  In the last series of events, rather than inciting death, He was announcing and preparing the disciples and the people for His death.  The plan of Jesus saving us, rescuing us from our sinful life was set and established; everything that took place had a purpose and was part of God's perfect plan.

I'm so grateful for the cross - He took upon Himself our pain, sin, despair, loliness, frustration, disease and much more so that we can today have life and freedom.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?
That Jesus had other brothers and/or sisters...I knew of one brother, and wonder what happened to the other siblings of Jesus.

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
Jesus knew his death was imminent.  When we are running out of time there are things we prioritize so that the most important things can get done.  Jesus was just trying to clean up a few last details.

"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)
I feel that the word incite has been wrongly used in this situation.I believe that all the events that were to happen were already known by Jesus since He is part of the Trinity. This is evidently proved by his foretelling to his desciples of how some of them were to betray him and deny him before his death and resurrection.I think it is not that he was trying to incite his death by cleansing the temple or his accusation of the leaders, this i feel was the Holy Spirit at work. This final lesson has revealed to me a new thing in the encounter of Jesus and Peter.Jesus met Simon who was a fisherman.Jesus loved Peter more than the rest of his desciples and even changed his name from Simon to Peter which means the Rock.Peter despite his closeness with Jesus, denied him three times as Jesus had foretold.Peter was so guilty of this but by grace,Jesus forgave him and told him"once i called you the Rock upon which i would build my church, and that hasn't changed, you are still the Rock." I am so touched by this act of forgiveness and reasurrance, despite our sins God is able to forgive us and give us another chance.May God's name be praised.

"Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?"
I believe Jesus accomplished all the purposes. This was because He came to fulfill prophecy.Jesus demonstrated God's love through forgiveness. The Bible says that God loves us so much that He wants us to come to him just as we are,as weak as we are,as sinful as we are, even if our sins are red as blood,he will cleanse us and make it as white as snow.Jesus also asked God to forgive those that crucified him for they knew not what they were doing. There is truely power in forgiveness.Jesus also accomplished bringing the Goodnews by shifting change from the law of Moses where now he taught people that the laws now were written in our hearts and that we nolonger need to offer animal sacrifices to God because Jesus' blood that he shed on the cross has covered for our sins.

How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment?

jesus wants for us the best !! we must follow and hear his word its fundamental for growing in christ and obey his commandments every moment that pass he wait for our call and he will answer us dont import the time ,

love him is love the father our god !!!

"He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him." ( John 14:21)

Simply all of them.  I notice as I read the Bible more that it is up to us to pursue and want these messages to be understood.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
Among everything i will humble and submit myself,as the scripture says in the book of 1 Peter 5:5 In the same way you younger people must submit to elders and all of you must put on the apron of humility,to serve one another, for scripture says God resist the proud but shows favour to the 'Humble,Humble yourselfs then, under God's mighty hand so that He will lift you up in His own good time, because He cares for you. It was a privilege to stay with Him under His mighty protection, for those who honor and humble themselfs can sit on one table and have Meal with Him,for bible teach us about 'Love'that we may have roots and foundation in love,Ephesians 3:18 says'so that you together with all God's people may have the power to understand how broad and long, how high and deep,is Christ's love.Jesus has already prepared everything for us,we must just let Him come in our house and share everthing with us,His words is planted in our hearts we just need to Distributes and share that special meal of the words among each other. So we must get rid of our old self and invite Him in our homes. Lastly when it happened to share a meal with Him,i will discuss more personal issues and make some jokes because i feel proud as Father that makes His presence to be more fluent to His child, and also ask 'how did he feel about me before i know Him ?
