"Was Jesus trying to incite his death (eg. temple cleansing, accusation of leaders?)

I don't think so.  Jesus was sent by the Lord to save us.  As it stated in the bible that "He repeatedly predicted his own murder in Jerusalem", He knew everything before it happened.

"Which of these purposes do you believe Jesus accomplished?"
I believe Jesus has already accoplished all the purposes.  However, we have to keep delivering the Lord's message to others everyday.

How does Jesus link intimacy to him with obedience to him?" a "New" commandment?
We can build up a relationship with God if we invite the Lord into our hearts.  We have to keep read His words from the bible and learn from His words in order to keep this relationship growing and get to know more about Jesus and ourselves.  We also can build up our confidence in God, so that we can hand everything to God and let Him lead our ways.

If you had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, what would you discuss?
If I had a one-on-one meal with Jesus, I would ask Him to teach me how to gain more confidence, so that I can step out and do more for Him.

Not at all in any ways, the death of our Lord Jesus Christ was to go on as proclaimed and those people did not know what they were doing nowounder Jesus said forgive them Father for they do not know what they are doing and as the scripture says in 1 corinthians 2 vs 8 ''for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory''

No,The scriptures repeatedly tells us in both the Old and the New Testament of a Savoir King "The Messiah" who will come to save God's people by willingly laying down his life for their sins, in that whomsoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Salvation for mankind was already worked out in God's mind even before the earths foundation was laid. Jesus tells us in His Word, I have come down from heaven to do the will of Him who sent me. Nothing that happened before, during, and after Jesus death was by chance or the work of the enemy or the enemies agents (Jesus' accusers). All of the procedings leading to Jesus death was carefully orchastrated by God, who used all things and everyone to accomplish His main purpose, and that was to have mercy on everyone who follow the way of the cross.

Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
well i think its simply because God want us to see the physical torment he went through in other to make us believe him the more and know He truly died and was resurrected for us to be free both physical and spiritual(eternal)agony of hell

Never! JESUS was not trying to incite his death it just too painful a sacrifice to be incited . He knew his fate and was determined to undergo it for the precious sake of love and to please his father(GOD) despite his physical distress which led to his prayer of agony in the garden of Gethsemane

Jesus knew that His death would come, but had to speak the truth anyway.
