Our God had this planned from the beginning of time
I am so very grateful that our Lord chose to do this hard thing for such as me.  He knew that no one was able to follow the law as he did, so there must have been one final sacrifice to open the way to heaven.  For His eternal love, I am eternally grateful.  Jesus chose to do this for us, from the beginning.  this is truly an awsome thought.

Luke describes how the angel Gabriel predicted the birth of Jesus to his mother Mary. According to Luke, what did the angel Gabriel predict as the future role of Jesus? Note: The name Jesus is the Greek form of Joshua, which means "God saves."
I agree with Takao, the Angel Gabriel told Mary, that He will be called the Son of the MOST High,He will have the throne of his father David,His Kingdom will have no end. He will Reign over the house of Jacob forever.

He came to heat things up
Christ came to save the lost, of which I am one. The fact that he is saying He wishes it was already kindled shows the great need for our salvation.  We have so many comfort zones that when the truth is shown we tend to squirm if it messes around with our comfort zone.  But these comfort zones are able to cause atrophy.  Without Christ in our lives we all are like that frog who is placed in a pot of water, heated up on the stove and not even realizing that we are being killed.  When we come into the light of Christ we care enough to tell our little frogs jump out, run for your lives.  Many of us don't want to hear the truth even if it is good for us.  We have been given that free will, choices.  But obedience to the Will of our Father is tough for some who have been use to having it there own way and not seeing any other way.  When we as a parent try to force them into the light there is a fight, but if we try to pray them into it we will have the help of our Lord, and little fires will be kiindled for His glory,  isn't that what it is all about, to God be the Glory, Great things He has done.

Even the Lord sought a place to be alone.
Jesus needed to find places to rest himself. Once the crowds learned of his miracles they all pressed in on him.  He was human just as we are and would try to find a quiet place to speak with God.  We must find that relationship too with our Father. Pray always, this is our strength, not just when we are weary but in good times too. Praise for our Lord is what rejuvinates us, and helps to keep our head above water in the down times.  He is not with us physically as of yet, but His spirit is. This is he who will lead us and comfort us at every moment.  In Christ's love

Why didn`t Nicodemus accept the opinion of the rulers and Pharisees about Jesus?
I Believe that the Lord God was calling Nichodemus to the truth. We are chosen and called by the Lord. Nichodemus wanted to understand who Christ was, he did see the miracles and did want to know. It was hard for him to understand the concept of new birth though. I believe this is because of his training, but Nichodemus was being drawn in by God to see the truth, or he never ever would have approached Christ in this way. Coming to Christ by night, shows he was still afraid of his peers.
