Once we accept Jesus He is with us always, in our heart and mind. We can be assured of His presence because He said He would be with us always, and He does not lie.

I could not presume to guess what Jesus was thinking or feeling. But I read in the Bile that He agonized and sweat blood over what was to come and that He went through with it in obedience to His Father. And just before His death He said, Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.
June 23, 2007 What did Pilate perceive about Jesus that made him so reluctant to have Jesus executed?
Prophesy had to be fulfilled, so it doesn`t really matter what, if anything, Pilate perceived. However, perhaps Pilate wanted not to be held responsible should Jesus` words be true. Maybe he didn`t want to run the risk of causing a riot to start among the Jews during the feast of Passover thereby getting in trouble with his superiors in Rome.
