Forgiveness

I cite here an article about a person who has a part in Dante's Devine Comedy.  It is a book about a guy who travels through levels of Hell, Pergatory, and Hevan.  At one level the main character sees two men whith their bodies stuck together, one forever eating the brain of the other. How terrifying an image.  Non-forgiveness is terrible.

Why did Jesus have to die?

The answer is to look in the Book of Genisis, chapters 2 and 3.  Read about the Fall of Man.  Why Jesus had to die is tied directly to this event.

Jews.  God could have picked South Africa, China, or Central America for the events of the Bible to take place.  The Jews are simply representative of Man.  To be angry with them is dumb.  You wouldn't do any better.  God picked them to be the high priests for the entire world.  Don't be like one of Joseph's brothers and hate him for it.

divorce

"What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."

If I cheat on my wife, beat her, abandon her, gain an addiction, and etc., then I am guilty of breaking the covenant we took before God.  She is free to go.   Jesus does not mean for my wife to go through life with black eyes and such.  Be aware of being heard of heart.  Remember that our Lord is compassionate.

A Poem I like

Trees

I think that I shall never see

A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest

Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,

And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear

A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;

Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,

But only God can make a tree.

325 years after

The persecutions are analogous to throwing water onto a grease fire.  Satan wanted the fire out, but it spread all over the place instead.

The Roman Empire making Christianity the official religion had the effect of poisoning Christianity from the inside.  Suddenly, throughout the empire, various religions had to become Christians.  These other religions brought with them their incorrect ways.   Problems persist to this day.
