The Soldiers might have been instructed by the Roman empire to mock and crucify Jesus pertaining to their law and custom as they assumed that Jesus breached the law and custom by claiming to be the King of Jews. They thought that Jesus will fight as He claim to be the king but Jesus's reaction was meek and lowly. God used the Sodiers to fulfill what is written in the scriptures about Jesus " Isiah 53 Vs 5". Jesus is the King of Kings . Amen!!!

June 12, 2008 Why did the multitude want Barabbas released rather than Jesus?
The multitude want Barabbas released rather than Jesus because they were persuaded by the chief Priest and elders to ask for the release of Barabbas than Jesus. The multitude were envious and falsefully delivered Jesus up in order to please men (Chief priest & elders) rather than God. Satan entered into the hearts of the multitude thereby giving then wrong choice of who to be released between Jesus and Barabbas.

June 10, 2008 What did Judas gain by betraying Jesus?
As the desciple of Jesus, Judas missed the target, he ended up hanging himself and faced death becaused he sinned against God. Judas acted independently by betraying the innocent son of God Jesus Christ thereby gaining nothing apart from having no peace of mind as he felt remorse. Glory to God as this was done to fulfill the old testament prophets concerning Jesus.

June 10, 2008 What made Peter so afraid to be identified with Jesus? Why are many people today still afraid to identify with Jesus?
Peter was made afraid to identify himself with Jesus because He was afraid to face death together with Jesus. Satan entered in the heart of Peter and His action was in flesh which made him to please men than God. The devil blinded Him and he could not remeber the good days he hard with Jesus. Even today, many people hide , they do not want to show up themselves that they belong to Jesus for fear of persecution and death. Satan has blinded alot of beleivers today and they can't realise and remember the sacrife of Jesus on the cross.

June 10, 2008 Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God?
The high Priest, scribes and the elders did not find falt in Jesus but they falsely gave testomies against Him with the intention to kill Him. They took it as a blasphemy because Jesus claimed to have all powers and that they ( Priest,scribes & elders) will see Him sitting at the right hand of God. The hight Priest and his friends were afraid of losing leadership positions because they thought that Jesus undermined them by passing through withought any consultation to them. Jesus agreed to build the Temple(His body) in three days after its destruction. Therefore , Jesus is the life giver------------- "He can do it if you believe Him" . Amen!!!
