Meeting Physical Needs: When have you put love into action?
Cynthia, great video. That inspired me to look at some others and include some of the better ones about loving the poor. This is one on international efforts to help people’s basic needs and it touched me. Hope it does the same for you.

Meeting Spiritual Needs: When have you put love into action?
Hey all, I noticed the editor asking for people to post media here. I love video and collect it on my ipod. You may have seen this one but I thought I’d include it just in case anyone hasn’t yet. When I saw this topic and started thinking about a video on showing spiritual love, this one came to mind. It's called Love Letter From God. Enjoy… Andrew

Relational Conflict: How has Jesus helped you
My finance and I have been working on our communication skills in preparation for marriage. One of the best tools we’ve been given is a process for working on our listening skills. It’s interesting how often we are involved in a conversation and we aren’t really listening. Our minds are off somewhere or we are more involved in thinking about our response than we are listening carefully to what the other person is sharing. Our pastor has been training us how to take the time to repeat back to our partner what we hear them saying before we respond to it. It has made a profound difference in our relationship. I often find that I think I understand what she is telling me but after I verbalize what I think she is telling me back to her I find that I’ve misunderstood her. It’s helping both of us better understand our differences and how to adapt our language to better communicate. I believe it is a principle that fits with Jesus’ teachings. If you pay attention to his communication style, you see that he is very intentional about listening before responding. Just something to consider. Cheers, Andrew.

Job Problem: How has Jesus helped you
Here in the UK job issues aren’t all that different than what I’m hearing from others. Finding the right balance between work and other areas of life isn’t easy. Some of my friends spend an hour a day commuting into work in London and elsewhere. What I see in the life of Jesus is that knew when to work and when to play. He knew when to laugh and when to storm the template. He knew when to embrace and when to confront. Jesus always was prepared for what was needed. I believe this was because he was in tune with the Holy Spirit. We all have our limitations but the Holy Spirit doesn’t. He is able to guide us and help us know how to respond to all the challenges of life. I believe that the best strategy for one’s professional life is to learn to listen carefully to what the Holy Spirit is saying. This allows us to operate at an entirely different level of effectiveness. Instead of us relying upon our own skills, knowledge and wisdom, he position ourselves to allow God to give us what we need in any situation. Just some thoughts to consider. Cheers, Andrew.
