Why does Jesus encourage focusing on the daily task at hand and discourage predicting the future?
When we sleep, we don't know what know is happening around us until we wake up the following day. For as much as we can not predict what tomorrow may bring, it therefore amount to fruitless struggle to think of tomorrow when we should spend our day like our last day on earth.

Jesus claimed that after a future period of destruction and distress, he (The Son of Man) will come back to earth with great power and glory. What did Jesus say he would do at that time?
But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. Then he will send out his angels, and will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky.

Why does Jesus place commandments to actively love above commandments to refrain from evil (thou shall notâ€Â¦)? Note: Jesus answered with two quotations from the Jewish law about loving God (Deuteronomy 6:4), and about loving neighbors (Leviticus 19:18).
Note that everything that Jesus said here is nothing but LOVE and no law above love as He said love thy neighbour as thyself. This is the greatest law.

What was Jesus trying to teach about giving (amount, motive, attitute)?
If you are giving offering or a gift to any person, you should do it from the bottom of your heart. Believing that God sieth all what you did.
