Why did the high priest view it as blasphemy when Jesus acknowledged that he was the Christ, the Son of God?
Because he was not a believer and was looking for any excuse to make a case against Christ. The high priests feared Jesus and the influence He was having on the general population and were seeking to destroy Him by any means that would appeal to the followers and blasphemy fit the bill.

Why did Judas betray Jesus with a kiss?
A kiss was a natural form of greeting for Jews and therefor would not have been anything out of the ordinary for Judas to do. Judas needed to do something that would npot raise alarm before the plot was completed.

Why did not the Father let the cup pass and spare Jesus the pain of the crucifiction?
When God sent His only begotten Son to earth, it was for the sole purpose that He was to be given for the forgiveness of our sins. Had God let the cup pass, then He would have been reneging on His promise to us and God is a faithful God who never goes back on His word. Jesus had to drink of the cup for the scriptures to be fulfilled.

Why do you think Peter was so emphatic and yet so wrong about denying Jesus?
Because he was not aware of his own weakneses. The bible tells us that only God knows the makings of man. Therefor Peter thought at the time that he could stand by Christ no matter what.

Since it was necessary for Jesus to be crucified, why was it still wrong for Judas to betray Him?
I have always found Judas role in the crucifiction of Christ a vexing one. If he was the instrument through which scripture had to be fulfilled, then why is he cursed" It was wrong for him though to betray Christ because he was one of the chosen ones-a disciple of Christ and therefor one who had all the insider information about Jesus. He also did it the cowardly way. Jesus had already made all His disciples know that one of them was going to betray Him and who that one was. At that point, Judas should have announced his intentions and let the others know that he was also fulfilling the scriptures.
