He wants us to follow his commandments, but when we fail to do this we fall short of Gods glory, But God loves us and forgives us. Favorite Violation April 25, 2007 Yes, jesus truly believes lowly people are valuable, perhaps even more so than those people who are full of self importance, who look down at other people for whatever reason. There is an innocence in people who are lowly, a more realistic essence to them, jesus saw this in them, and perhaps some of the messages in the bible we can identify with, in adopting simplistic qualities that lowly people possess. Favorite Violation April 13, 2007 What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you? It is wonderful to learn about the actual daily life of the times of jesus. Sometimes i think we reflect of the past of jesus times as some sort of mythical era. To learn how they actaully lived was surprising and informative. It all appeared relatively `normal` too, and a lot more political than i would of imagined, with lots of diverse political groups and a lot of emphasis on religion and laws. Also surprising was the relatively small area in which jesus travelled, i imagined him to of travelled a lot further to spread the word, only 200 miles is amazing!!! and how the world has changed because of him. Favorite Violation April 13, 2007 My Brief Summary of Jesus Jesus was born as son of god, to save mankind from eternity in hell. Throughout the old testament we learn that there will be sent a saviour, a messiah to save us, he will not be of this world but the son of god. In order for us to be saved, we need to establish a true relationship with jesus, we need to put our trust and faith in him.God sent the holy spirit to help us receive the word of god and be true to him. When we struggle we need to pray, to be alert that the works of satan are always at hand, and to pray for the holy spirit to guide us. When there was the fall at creation, man really blew it with god, but god wants us to have a relationship with him, he created us in his image and wants us to love him and love each other, this is where jesus coms into it. We can`t earn being saved through good deeds, it is through the grace of god that we ae saved, by the act of jesus dying on the cross our sins are forgiven, the slate was wiped clean and we can begin again a relationship with jesus. We need to follow the word of god, i.e the bible, follow the commandments, love one another and put our hope and trust in jesus christ, make him the centre of our lives.
