Blog of Lionel Bayer Jesus willingly came down to earth so that he may die for the forgiveness of our sins. Jesus knew the suffering he had to endure on behalf of the sins of the world. Jesus did this willingly in obedience to the Father and for the love of mankind. Jesus sent His disciples into the world to preach the Word of GOD- which is the Gospel - which is the Good News of salvation obtainable only through belief and faith in Jesus Christ and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior. They were sent to preach repentance and the turning away from sins and the importance of keeping the commandments. They were sent to preach that we have forgiveness of sins and eternal life because of and only because of GOD's love for us - a love so great that GOD sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for us, to take upon Himself our sins, all our sins. We are the temple/church of GOD,which GOD raised up after three days - meaning that. when Jesus was resurrected from death after three days, GOD also raised up a new set of believers in Jesus Christ who are the temple/church of GOD. The point that Jesus is making about eternal life; is that it should be our ultimate aim in life, to be one with GOD our Father and His Son Jesus Christ by living a sinless life, always contemplating and meditating on all things holy and in the ways GOD wants to live. It means repenting for our sins, and letting the commandments of GOD rule our life - Jesus has to be in us and we in Jesus in thought, word and deed. |
