March 30, 2007 What is so good about fasting? Why fast?
I don`t really understand why, but obviously Jesus thinks the Father will reward me for fasting. I guess it is a spiritual discipline thing. It seems from reading this lesson that the people listening to Jesus, and Jesus himself, understood that fasting was a good thing so he did not feel the need to explain further.

November 07, 2006 Why does Jesus describe to his disciples how disobedient, ignorant and lazy servants are punished by their master, and how obedient, alert and active servants are given greater authority?
He is clarifying values in the kingdom of Heaven - these are the values that God desires in his servants. I think that he used contrast to make sure we understood the choices before us about what kind of people we are to be - what kind of person I am to be.
