January 17, 2008 Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?Sinners, children, servants, crowds, people from different ethnic backgrounds, all these people feature in the lesson today. Jesus readiness to engage with them all teaches us about his belief system, that there are none that He does not want, none who are unworthy of His sacrifice, everyone is of value. It is true to say that while everyone is worthy, and Jesus is no respecter of persons, I do believe that we will all give an account of ourselves at the level to which we have attained. From he who has much, much will be expected. Jesus gives the opportunity of salvation to everyone, it is His to give and there are none who do not qualify for forgiveness, we too can share the teachings of salvation with our fellow man. I am valuable, you are valuable, every man, woman and child born into this world is of such value to God that He gave His only Son to die on the cross. |

January 08, 2008 What I know for sure. The Brief Life Summary teaches me that Jesus is the Son God, conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, that he lived 30 years and suffered under Pontious Pilat, that He was crucified and died and was buried for my transgressions, he descended into hell, on the third day he rose from the dead, He ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father and he will return from there again to judge the world, living and dead. |
