February 18, 2008 Why did Jesus“ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?"Could it be that both physical and emotional pain, which can ultimately lead to dispare and contempt, which can also lead to the Spiritual seperation from God, had to be displayed; Fortifiying the Message that even at the lowest point in our lives, through any hardship we may endure; as long as we keep our eyes on Jesus and the Will of God, we shall find peace..." This endurance of unimaginable faith and focus on God and the assurance of life everlasting was proof of the ultimate sacrfice. If you read throughout Scripture, starting in the day of Noah; God's penalty for unrighteousness was death; the flood... the invasions... the fall of Jerusalem... Jesus' ultimate sacrifice for us ended this for us. In it, we all can find the rest that God has promised us all.

February 01, 2008 Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment? It is indeed proof that He is the "Sovereign One" for whom and by whom all things exist. He gave a new commandment! He also illustrates that doctrinal differences should not keep us from each other. Our love for God and for one another should help us to overcome and submit to one another in the fear of God; knowing that we share the same Lord who did not argue these issues. Therefore if there is love there is no "argument." Only "agreement." We are told very plainly who we should not eat with, or allow ourselves to be deceived by. The Holy Spirit inspired Paul with clarity on the issue of who should be considered a "brother/sister". Therefore, loving each other is the means by which we become disciples living together in agreement. |

January 29, 2008 How does being forgiven increase ones love for God? Note: According to Jesus, God`s forgiveness is motivated by love.Forgive them father for they know not what they do... Incredible! Appreciation! Gratitude! Awestruck by the mercy and patience of the most powerful being in the universe caring for one nasty, little, vile, proud, selfish critter! (I'm not talking about you... it's me! Well, no, it had to be you, too, because, "all have fallen short of the glory of the Lord... and while we were yet sinners...," and all the other passages relating to why we all deserve death, but have been given a free gift from God that birth's us into His kingdom.(whew what a run-on) I gotta tell you, God is Good, "Good God": God is Good!! And all I want is to find grace in His sight! |

January 24, 2008 What is the Kingdom of God?Since God's "thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways higher than our ways" if we follow the leading of the spirit and do the will of God we will be residents of the Kingdom of God who seek only to "do what the Father does". As children of God if we follow the leading of the spirit we will be living in a reality on Earth that is in accordance with the realities and principles of the Kingdom of God. Hence, miracles of healing, spreading the Gospel... in other words the Great Commission would enable the realities of the Kingdom of God to be enacted in our lives. So I think that the Kingdom of God is the community of the children of God living in a way that enables the principles of the Kingdom and it's realities to be made manifest. |

January 21, 2008 "According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?"A friend once texted me, "Now matter how deep your darkness is, His love is deeper still." According to Jesus we will have eternal life, we will eat and live with Jesus and the Father, we will never be forsaken, we will be given spiritual gifts, and the Holy Spirit, we will have access to "living water", we will be inheritors of the promises of the Sermon on the Mount... God's love is all encompassing! He fights our battles, provides for us, heals us, redeems us, instructs us, gives us peace... Somebody stop me I could type forever praising the Lord and His mighty works that he's done out of Love for us who follow him... even those who aren't following Him can call on His name and He will hear them. When we were yet sinners! Our God is an awesome God! I 'll just keep praising Him, so I better just stop typing. |
