"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?"

Love begot love and GOD's love is eternal but conditional.

GOD gives us his firsthand love unconditinal, but it will be up to us to accept it or not, here is where the subject "love"  become conditional.

If anyone will love Him in return, the Father in heaven  will love us,  and He will abide with us, and we will abode with Him in His glory eternally.

Jesus Christ is the ame yesterday, today and forever..Hebrew

God will always be as He was relevant before.

Yes, in my own thought, GOD has already send His Spirit in our time as He promise., "it is expedient for you that I will go away, but if I won't,  I will not sent my comporter to you,  but if I depart, I will sent them unto you."

In our time, we have even the most powerful and supernatural presence of His spirit...as GOD said in the old testament..do not put your trust in the flesh because  flesh are bound to be destroyed but not the spirit.

Before He left us, He has  us with us His powerful gospel and concrete examples on how to be a good children of GOD.  His resurrection has left strengthen our faith that Jesus is Lord.  Good people abides with Him / with His spirit and follow His teachings in our time and even up to the time he will come again.  So, as christians, it is our responsibility to go on and show to our generation that Jesus is relevant and will always be relevant to all generations, until God call us home.

May the unbelievers, see the light and the light will show them the way, the way to everlasting life.

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

So much and He wanted us to do the same.

Jesus gives equal opportunity to all mankind for salvation.  That is why Jesus did not limit  Himself to socialized / commune with the Jews alone.  He come with the drunkards, with the beggars, samaritans.  He judgement far behind our standards, because His thought is to high than our thought and His understanding is limitless.

His example are seldom followed by us., even in christian community / churches., seldom we have double standard.  This is not Jesus, Jesus has a very super natural standard, why, because He got unconditional love.
