How does being forgiven increase ones love for God? Note: According to Jesus, God`s forgiveness is motivated by love.
God forgives us because He loves us, not because we have done anything to warrant or deserve His forgiveness.  I take great strength in the fact that if I confess my sins and repent I am forgiven by God, and He not only forgives our sins but also forgets them.  As God is able to forgive my sins, I can also forgive myself for mistakes and sins.  This gives me the strength and courage to admit when I am wrong, correct my path and move forward toward the purpose God has for my life.  My love for God increases as I realize that despite my sinful nature, He forgives me and provides for me and has a perfect and higher purpose for my life.  I want to please my loving and forgiving Father.

"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?"
God's love assures our salvation, secured by the sacrifice of His Son.  God sends His Holy Spirit to inhabit those who love Him and we are guided by the Spirit.

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?
All people are equally valuable, we simply have different paths and purposes for our lives.  "Lowly" people need the comfort of the Lord's presence the most as they may have little else in their earthly existence that provides comfort.  The Lord often raises them up from their lowly circumstances to demonstrate His power and presence in their lives.  There is great value in seeing how the presence and acceptance of God can make such a difference in the lives and attitudes of people.

Define "Compassion"?

Compassion is born out of experiencing similar problems.  It is the ability to unerstand, sympathize and have a shared feeling with another person.  Compassion is often combined with a desire to alleviate or reduce the suffering of another; to show special kindness to those who suffer.  Compassion is often characterized through actions.  The focus is primarily on the alleviation of suffering.

Compassion is not about learning to say the perfect things at the perfect time, but rather about showing consideration for others' pain through listening and caring.  You see it in a warm, safe smile, a nonjudgmental look of encouragement, a kind touch, or anything that will lift another person to a place of higher confidence.
