Why does Jesus teach us to love our enemies?

Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment?

He calls it a new NEW commandment because the law he is trying to teach to the world is to love one another. He clearly lets his disciples know that no longer do they have to be tied down by various laws which govern their holiness but all they have to do is love one another.  Jesus preaches a message of Love throughout his ministry.

The word is lord

The lord is God

God is love

Love is everywhere

How do Jesus` words make you feel? You may want to save your answer as "Private"
Jesus words make me feel safe and secure in the knowledge that their is eternal love for us.  He lets me know that he will forever be there and will never forsake us so we can be confident of eternal life.

How does being forgiven increase ones love for God? Note: According to Jesus, God`s forgiveness is motivated by love.
Being forgiven by God increases my love for him because God did not have to forgive us but forgives out out of grace.  This demonstrates that God is a Loving God so i am even more in awe of him and feel love towards him for rewarding me with eternal forgivness.

"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?"
This love that God gives out is an total and complete love.  God loves us unconditionaly and wants to walk with him in his word. This love is free flowing but to experience it you have to submit to God and allow him to love you.
