The Lord has clearly accomplished all things. Some things are still unfolding even though they were set in motion many years ago. We are presently sitting in a point of time where we know what God has done and is doing and will do. Yet, not all things have come to pass at this point in time. One day we will look back throughout history and clearly see how the Lamb was indeed slain from the foundations of the world.
What is interesting to me about compassion is that it is one of the ultimate expressions of selflessness.. Rarely do you ever hear of someone having compassion for his or her self. Instead, compassion is always found in the context of one person toward another. Such was the case with Christ and those He ministered too. It was not because He was sick or in need of forgiveness, it was because they were. Compassion also comes from a sense of sympathy and concern for another while at the same time restraining from judgement that would block your aid. By choosing not to judge we are in fact commiting those judgements to the Lord. This allows us freedom to minister love and mercy to those in need and not avoid them due to a sense of justice for what they did. Christ was perfect and yet He died for our sins and did not condemn us for them. Ultimately Christ Himself would die for our sins on the corss so that we could have eternal life. Christ suffered all the temptations and harships anyone on earth could ever face and yet He had no sin. He chose to go through such difficulties so that he could have genuine compassion for those He came to love and save. God therefore made Jesus Christ the High Priest of our faith. One of my favorite verses in the Bible comes from the book of Hebrews. ``Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.`` Hebrews 2:17
Relationships are personal. When I think of relationships with other people I dont merely think of just the things others think about them or what was written about them. It goes much deeper then that. So it is with Christ. He desires to meet each one of us one on one. This is when His words are made to come alive and we experience the truth we have heard or read about. These pesonal experiences of the Word being made flesh is what testimonies are all about! God`s loving interaction with mankind. God is real, and we are His living epistles! Each experience we have with Christ is unique and yet in no way different from the person of Christ revealed in HIs word. Enjoy these personal encounters people on the streets are having when they encounter not just the words of Christ, but Christ Himself! Enjoy!
