Blog of jalandoni vila The Lord Jesus called " Love One another" a "new" commandment because it summarizes the whole Law of Moses into one but very effective commandment that will become a cornerstone of the Lord's teaching aside from the most important commandment,i.e.,loving God, the Father. By calling it "new", the Lord never intended to do away with the Law of Moses, rather, the Lord Jesus was adding a new perspective to it. When a believer of the Lord Jesus brings love where there is hatred, hope where there is despair, joy where there is sorrow, forgiveness where there is pain, peace where there is quarrel, then the kingdom of God is within him. When there is respect, concern, patience, giving and love among us believers, then the kingdom of God is among us. The kingdom of God also refers to the coming millenium years when there will no longer be wars among nations, where people and beasts can live in perfect harmony. We must control the ways of the flesh if we want to be part of this Kingdom. I have been wanting to find a bible study group like this one. May the Lord Jesus enlighten me more as i take part in this bible study. I look forward to jan 7, 2008. Nice to meet you, guys. |
