I think that material possesions impede following God because they stumble us by causing us to think that our physical and material health or affluence can comfort or sustain us rater than the Spirit.

May 13, 2008 Why was Peter`s rebuke a stumbling block to Jesus?
I think that Peter's rebuke stumbled Jesus because Peter wasn't thinking of the benefit of jesus' sacrifice to the universe. Peter didn't want to be physically seperated from his Lord, and Jesus knew that He had to transcend His human life to accomplish His purpose.

May 08, 2008 Why did Jesus repeat this miracle, here feeding the 4000, after previously feeding the 5000?
I think that possibly Jesus healed and fed the people in order to make belivers of them on account of the mircles, making them suitable to be subjects of the Kingdom, to the glory of God, His father.

May 08, 2008 Faith allowed power to flow from Jesus even without his initiative. What is faith?
I think that faith is trusting in the Lord so completely that we don't think twice about giving Him our lives, certain that we will get it back.

May 07, 2008 How did the woman`s words and action show her faith?
The woman, although a Canaanite, recognised Jesus as the Messiah. She asked for mercy, not for herself, but for her daughter. She knew that Jesus could heal her daughter, and was persistant and humble. When Jesus chastised her, she accepted it and asked again.
