Blog of john dally Yes, Jesus does believe lowly people are valuable. I believe Jesus during His ministry had a special affinity with people who were disadvantaged in the society they lived in. This is backed up by the accounts in the Gospel some of which are described in the lesson. Jesus is as relevent now as He was then. He loves us all equally irrespective of our colour, age, sex, background, monetary wealth, etc. All we have to do to receive this love of Jesus is to open our hearts to Him. 'A feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.' The above is a definition from an online dictionary. This definition cannot come close to describing the compassion Jesus had for the people and situations He found Himself involved with, desribed in the Gospel. That compassion, love in it's purest form can be found today in our relationship with a living God, Jesus. |
