"If any one wants to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all."

Every time I read this verse, I am struck by how much it goes against our culture. It seems like people are often more interested in being served than serving. And it's easy for that attitude to creep into my own thinking if I'm not careful. That's one reason to read the Bible: it helps me become more like God and less like the culture around me.
