Yes the commandment is one of the 10 commandments given by Our Lord to Moses in the old testment but saying in John 13:34 that it is a new commandment. If you live in the world you love the world and yourself but when you die and become child of God you learn what the real meaning is of love one another. God wants us to love each other even with faults in our lives or as persone. Yes not one of us is perfect but we have to strive to do good and to love each other.
