Why does Jesus call "Love One Another" a "New" commandment?

We have considered loving God to fulfill the requirement of the law. We know that the ten commandments covered our relationship to God and man but did not say 'love one another'.

Now Jesus declared that we must show love to another if we truly love God. Our relationship with man should show the love God has given unto us. If you cannot love the people you see each day how can you say that you love God" God calls us liars when we declare it is possible to do so.

Love one another so that the world will see God in you.

What is the Kingdom of God?
The kingdom of God has come. With the advent of Christ the kingdom began and it is up to us to spread the gospel to those who have not heard or accepted Christ as Lord. The Kingdom of God is the reign of the Messiah in our hearts, the love of God that shows compassion to those in need of Him and the peace of God that permeates our lives when we have the right relationship with Him.

"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?"

To be loved by God is to accept His Son as your Savior, to allow His Holy Spirit to have control in your daily life and to love your brother as you love yourself.

God is the giver of life and He rewards those that dilligently seek Him. God is Love, unconditional Love, Love that overlooks a multitude of faults and still provide for daily needs. That kind of love can only come from One that created all, is All in All, The Most High God of heaven and earth.

What an awesome God we serve.

Define "Compassion"?
Compassion is the ability to share the pain, anguish, hurt, hunger, distress or need of another. Jesus had compassion because he became human to know personally the feelings, emotions and disposition of the people. If there is no feeling you cannot have compassion.

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

The lowly are valuable because they truly need God. The less fortunate, ill, cripple, or destitute have no other resource available than a loving God to care for them. Those os substance rely on themselves rather than God. They will ask why bother God when I candio this for myself" not realizing that they are the ones that need Him most. Self reliance can become a stumbling block to the best of Christians. So the lowly and needy will call upon the Lord mre often because they have needs that only a loving God can fill. The lowly will humble themselves before the creator God asking for what they need while the high and mighty will rely on their own goods to see them through. Jesus said it will be easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

As long as we do not trust God to know what is best for us in all situations we run the risk of decreaesing our value to God. When we learn to humbles ourselves, seek His face and pray, then will we hear from heaven and He will heal the land.
