January 15, 2008 Why did Jesus´ penalty for "sin" need to include physical and emotional pain - why not just spiritual separation from God?
We can not see our sins from the outside thus His beating, mocking, being spat on and crucifixion were outside attributes of our internal crimes against Him. Thus fulfilling prophecy and making God righteous and just for His sacrifice because we could never do enough to repay Him for the hurt we have shown 6 billion times 1 sin = God's broken heart. If He would have only separated Himself from Christ we would have called Him a lunatic. Thank you Jesus

January 15, 2008 Define "Compassion"?
Compassion in the text is equal to mercy or the word ELEOS and it means to show kindness or good will towards people, they were miserable, tired and lacking in strength so it affected Christ strongly to see them in that state.
