What about this story disturbs or comforts you?

The disturbing part of the story is the fact that once you die, that's it! If you did good and have followed God while you're still living then you'll be in heaven, but otherwise you'll be stuck in hell, and there's nothing you can do about it. Which just shows that you should live your life for God, not the other way around.

The comforting part is that even though we suffer while we live in this world, there is a place for us to rest and find comfort and happiness when we die -- in heaven with God.

What is Jesus trying to teach his disciples?
He was trying to teach his disciples to completely trust in the Lord; He didn't let them bring anything, because He knew that the the Lord will take care of them and at the same time He was teaching them to become good preachers.

Can you think of examples where Jesus modeled this radical teaching?
Yes. When Jesus died on the cross. Even though he went through a lot of suffering, he even asked God to forgive them for he said that they do not know what they're doing.
