You are my Lord, apart from you I have no good thing Ps 16:2 www.jesuscentral.com/16082
May 01, 2007 According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?Jesus was saying, that God loves us so much He gave His only son - His life for ours. But loving God and being loved by Him is not a passive thing - it demands a response. So just like God has said keep my statues He then says that Jesus is the way and the truth and the life... , so if we believe God then we must remain in Jesus ''His will, His love, His way''. Further to that, just as God loves us, so too has Jesus. Not just because He said so ''which He did in Jn15:9'', but because He did ''there are example after example in the Bible - but there`s also example after example in the lives of those who have come to know Jesus in the here and now today''. He loves us so much that nothing can separate us from Him - nothing, not even death. There`s is no condemnation, no recrimination; we are totally blameless and free from our sins ''past, present and future'' - now that`s love! And amazing grace. |

April 26, 2007 What is the Kingdom of God?The Kingdom of God is us ''me and you''; followers of Christ, walking in His will right here, right now, bringing about ALL that that entails ''living, loving, learning, serving, giving - available vessels, to be used in whatever way He wants''. Can you imagine what that would look like if ALL of the world was like that - knew Jesus like we`ve been blessed" I know what my little piece of the world looks like and that`s pretty good now - now that I`m in Christ and He`s in me and I`m surrounding myself with my brothers and sisters in Christ. THATs the Kingdom of Heaven, that`s amazing and THAT`s a gift worth sharing. |

April 24, 2007 How valueable are the lowly?Jesus believes the lowly are extremely valueable. It`s crucial that they`re befriended and extended the love and grace of Christ just as we`ve received. Why are they so important" Well, they are the unloved, hardened, hurt, scared, mistreated, hopeless and I think it`s because they really NEED a saviour and know it, and Jesus Christ is it - the only one - the way and the truth and the life! Sure the rich and middle classes need saving too but they are harder to convince - `stuff`, busy lives and a multitude of other gods get in the way. |

April 18, 2007 background on Jesus that stands outI didn`t realise how much today we are like Rome of then with multiculturalism being today`s stumbling block. I guess I knew that Jesus was from the middle classes but I don`t know why I thought he`d be tall and strongly built. Maybe its something to do with the awe in which I hold Him in given the works at the cross - with the weight of the world`s sin on His shoulders, but even the carpenters I know today aren`t particularly largely built so it shouldn`t have been a surprise that he`d be smallish in stature like most jewish men. I didn`t know anything about the clothing and had wondered about the loincloth ''not sure why - I just wondered what it was. Had an image of Tarzan in my mind!''. I knew that woman weren`t held in any great esteeem which is why I love the fact that it was the two Mary`s that first discovered Jesus had risen. If the Christian`s were making up the story they wouldn`t have used women as the first to find Him missing because they would immediately have been doubted simply because they`re women and held no real value. With the account holding up thoughout the ages it proves the verasity of evidence that Christ had risen because they couldn`t quash the claim EVEN with `second-class citizens` carrying the story so there must have been other evidence and/or no denying the facts - love it! |
