I was raised Jewish and still do not really understand this distinction. Christianity looks very much like a mixing of the old with the new. Isn't the New Testament supposed to be a fulfillment of the Old? Everything in the OT is not thrown out, is it?

Mary kept all these sayings, pondering them in her heart

I guess it does not say very much what went through her mind.  Every mother wants to protect and nurture her baby.  It seems unlikely that she was thinking about anything else.  Maybe when he gets older, she could let herself try to figure it out.

Just my opinion.  Do not mean to offend.  I am willing to listen

What are the things that testify, or tell us, about Jesus?

It does not say it here.  I guess one has to find it other places in the scriptures.

It does seem to talk to me, as someone who does not receive him.  I do not seek the glory.

And I do not really get what the last sentence means " if you don't believe his writings'  -- is this refering to Moses"  What writings"   It does not matter since no one here answers me anyway.

What does this miracle of turning water to wine tell us about Jesus?

This is a hard one.  I am not a Christian, but I am open to learning.  Most of the questions here have been fairly striaghtforward.  This one is not so obvious.

Wine, especially good wine, is something of considerable value.  Maybe Jesus was freely offering something of considerable value.  But if one drinks too much wine, one gets drunk, and I presume that is not such a good thing.  So is Jesus offering something that makes people feel good in the short run but bad for you in the long run"

Or is it not really wine but something that has all the pleasure of wine but not it's bad effects"  That would be a good lesson but it is not what is written.

The point abot good wine first and then worse wine later after everyone is drunk is interesting.  Could it be that what Jesus is offering is so good that even when drunk, one can tell the difference and the quality"

Offering people wine as a "coming out" sign is also strange.  Curing the sick would be a more significant way to start.  Maybe wine appreciation is universal"

I just don't get it.

How did the disciples

Before the storm, they were not aftraid, but during the storm they were afraid of dying.  They did not think that Jesus could do anything to help but were concerned for him.

I do not understand why Jesus said they had no faith.  It sounds to be like he was repremanding them for waking him up.  And it sounds to me like they were afraid of what he would do to them.

I know this is not the expected answer and I know that I too have no faith, but I am trying to learn.
