we as christians befriend and promote the lowly , by good to them and not judging them for their actions.however, we must encourage them to live like christ and follow him.
i think jesus was very compassionate, in the sense that he was there and still is available to each and everyone who is hurting and needs help.therefore as christians , we must be like christ and be compassionate to each and everyone who is hurting and needs help.
