Brief Summary of Jesus

Jesus, Son of God, was born in Bethlehem. He lived with his family and grew up in the Jewish faith and became a carpenter. When He was in his 30s, he began his public ministry, teaching love and forgivness (as opposed to the strict law). The Jewish leaders of that time pressed the Roman authorities to convict Jesus, although no Roman law had been broken - in fact, no Jewish law had been breached! Jesus' only "crime" was to declare Himself the Son of God - blasphemy to the Jewish elite. Jesus was tortured, crucified and entombed.  After 3 days he rose from the dead and appeared to many. He then ascended to heaven.  His apostles documented his public ministry and life, including the public healings and miracles He performed.
