"According to Jesus, what does it mean to be loved by God?"
Being loved by God according to Jesus means you have to follow God's commandments, read and understand his word.  We should believe that Jesus is Lord, for God so loved us that he gave us Jesus Christ to die for our sins and set us free from the iniquities so that we can fellowship with God, as sin had separated us from Him.

Does Jesus believe lowly people are valuable? How valuable?

Jesus believed that lowly people are valuable because he did good things to lowly people like healing them, sharing meals with them, praying for their children.   He most valued the  offering from the poor old lady because it was from her heart.

Define "Compassion"?
Compassion means sympathy, consideration, kindness and care.  In this case Jesus showed compassion by healing, raising the dead to such an extend that he wept, it shows how kindhearted he was.

What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?
In summary to the whole lesson i am amazed at many things that i didnt know, eg that Jesus' language was Aramaic, the purpose of the head white cloth the Jews put on was to protect them from the sun, i thought it was just their culture to put it on, i was a little bit touched and not happy that women were treated as second citizen people, that was unfair.  i have learnt that we should follow our culture as Jesus did, he followed the Jewish culture.
