What did you learn about Jesus` background that stands out or surprises you?

One of the things that stands out concerning Jesus' background is the class system within the Jewish people and how this must have clashed with the rule of the Roman system.  With this in mind for Jesus to have stepped out in His teachings that were both different to the Jews and the Romans meant sure conflict from all areas within the world that He lived.  Yet He was more than willing to overcome and face the consequences of what He had come to teach the world.

Life of The Son of God

Jesus was born in Jerusalem and as a young boy lived a normal quiet life that we know little about.  However there are some insights into his early life within the Bible.

We understand from the birth of Jesus is that he was born in order for God to show mankind how much He loves us.  From scripture we know that Jesus was born to die in order for us to receive forgiveness from God for our wrong doings.

Jesus also teaches us to share the love that He has for us with others; so that all mankind will know this absolutely amazing love that God has placed in the believers hearts.  God's love for all mankind encourages us to believe that He places immense value on every person and is extremely interested in every area of ones life and longs to get involved in helping everyone to enjoy and live a life in His kingdom.

Jesus declares that through Him we can all enjoy the privileges of living in The Kingdom of God.  Entering the kingdom has been made possible by passing through the door called 'Jesus'.  That is - if we believe that Jesus is the son of God and that He can forgive us our wrong doings then we can enter into the Kingdom.  However Jesus teaches about the alternative to believing and the consequences - a life with Jesus on earth means a life in heaven for eternity; however a life without Jesus on earth means a life in hell for eternity.

We can all live in Gods' kingdom by simply asking for His forgiveness.  The bible tells us that ALL who asks for forgiveness of their wrong doings will receive forgiveness and eternal life.  I thank God that He sent Jesus and that I asked Him for forgiveness.
