Information about JI
Jesus Institute ("JI") and its websites are intentionally designed to help users learn about Jesus and share what they learn with others. JI users can view profiles of other users and communicate with each other, share and post information and so on. JI users can share personal information with other users. JI users can change their profile information at any time.

Government Agencies
Government agencies are with greater frequency requesting information stored by online organizations. For those who wish to keep certain information private, we suggest that you do NOT enter such information in this system.

Chat Rooms, Forums, Journals, WebLogs and Message Boards
Be aware that whenever you voluntarily post public information to Chat Rooms, Forums, Journals, WebLogs, Message Boards and so on that information can be accessed by the public and can in turn be used by those people to send you unsolicited communications.

Collection and Use of Information
JI collects user submitted information such as name, email address, and age to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to the JI service. JI also collects other profile data such as personal interests, gender and age for demographic purposes and to help users connect and communicate with each other.

JI may log information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. Non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to users. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes.

User Profile information including users' pictures, names, and city are displayed to people in order to facilitate user interaction among JI users. Email addresses are used for the purposes of inviting new friends to join JI, to forward messages by the JI messaging system and to send notifications related to service provided by JI. From time to time, JI or a partner, may sponsor a survey, promotion or contest on JI. Users may be asked to provide personal information including name, email address or home address or to answer questions in order to participate. We may transfer personal information to certain partners from whom you request information.

Modification of Personal Information
JI users may modify or remove any of their personal information at any time by logging into their account and accessing features under the Profile section.

JI contains links to sites. JI is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When linking to another site a user should read the privacy policy stated on that site. Our privacy policy only governs information collected on JI.

JI user accounts are secured by user-created passwords. JI takes precautions to insure that user account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect user account information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to user account information to those employees who use access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of user account information or other information from users. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of any user information at any time. Sharing and Disclosure of Personal Information
JI may disclose personal information to a third party when we believe that disclosure is necessary: (1) to conform to legal requirements or to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other legal process received by enforce the JI Terms of Use Agreement or to protect our rights; (2) to protect the rights of JI or (3) to protect the safety and undisrupted learning of members of the public and users of the service. JI reserves the right to transfer personal information to a successor in interest that acquires rights to that information as a result of the sale of JI or substantially all of its assets to that successor in interest. JI may use cookies, for example, to store visitors' preferences and to record session information, for purposes such as ensuring that visitors are not repeatedly offered the same advertisements and to customize newsletter, advertising, and Web page content based on browser type and user profile information. You may be able to configure your browser to accept or reject all or some cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set -- each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences. Please note that JI may allow 3rd party advertisers that may present advertisements on some of our pages to set and access their cookies on your computer. Advertisers' use of cookies is subject to their own privacy policies, not the JI Privacy Policy.

Amendments to the Privacy Policy
From time to time we may amend our privacy policy. When we amend our privacy policy, we will post the amended privacy policy on our site. A user is bound by the amended privacy policy when the user uses the site after the amended privacy policy has been posted.
